Greetings! Here is a little bit of my story. I grew up on our family farm outside the community of Oneonta, a small town in North Alabama.  I was fortunate to attend a great local school and worshipped at a loving and mission centered church, Lester Memorial UMC. Some of my favorite memories from this time are working on the farm with my grandmother who would tell me stories from Scripture, exploring the woods with our basset hound Heidi, going on youth mission trips to the Appalachia Service Project and enjoying our Sunday routine of church, family meals, church youth group and, in season, pick-up basketball games. Most importantly, I learned about the amazing grace of Jesus at a young age.

After high school, I attended the University of Alabama where, after a long and epic college career, I graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering. God, however, had additional plans for me in college where I worked two summers as staff for the Appalachia Service Project (ASP). Looking back, I see how God used that time to plant within me seeds of pastoral ministry.

Through ASP I was blessed to have met Lisa and we have been on the wonderful and loving journey called marriage for over 20 years. We have two awesome sons who, despite the fact that they are teenagers, remain our "hearts on legs." We lived in the Birmingham area after college and worshipped and served at a loving and grace filled church, Helena UMC.

After practicing engineering for 17 years, and God working on my heart for most of that time, I said yes to God's calling for pastoral ministry. I am thankful that God did not give up on me! And, God used all those years in business leadership to form and shape me into the pastor I am today.  God is good, all the time! After saying yes we moved to North Carolina for Divinity School. I am so grateful to be serving at Holly Springs UMC!
