All Are Invited to our Weekly Worship Services!

As a Christian community, worshipping the Triune God is the cornerstone of faith.  In worship we sing, celebrate good news, pray, share liturgy, hear scripture and a sermon and  give back to God through our offering. We celebrate the Holy Communion the first Sunday of each month as well as special church days such as Christmas Eve. At HSUMC our services are designed so that everyone who gathers, no matter their church background, can connect with the God that loves and redeems them and be empowered by the Holy Spirit to serve others in the name of Jesus Christ the Lord.

We are currently worshipping in our Christian Life Center (CLC) while the sanctuary construction project is underway. We plan to be back in the restored 100-year old sanctuary by the end of 2017.

8:30 am Contemporary Worship

This service's music is lead by our Praise Team where we sing contemporary praise and worship music that is projected on the screen above. Feel free to dress casually at this service and enjoy the free coffee, a must at any service before 9:00am.

11:00 am Traditional Worship

We use the hymnals this service for the music and liturgy and the singing is lead by the Chancel Choir. The choir and pastor typically wear robes at this service, as well as the acolyte, except for the summer months where the worship leaders dress more casually.

Children

Infants and children are welcome in our worship services! We have colorful children's bags for your use on a table as you enter the service. Also, there is children's church offered at the 11:00 service. The children are welcome to follow our leaders downstairs, below the CLC, to Room 3 where you will pick them up after the service. More About Children's Ministry.

Nursery

A nursery is available for 4 year olds and under at all services.  The nursery is located downstairs, below the CLC, in room 5 and staffed by both church staff and volunteers. More About the Nursery.
